Job Position: Forklift - 2nd Shift

Location: Bolingbrook, IL 60490

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr

Shift: Second Shift

Description: Forklift - 2nd Shift
Responsibilities:
• Obtain forklift certification by passing the requisite safety test.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of forklift equipment. May recharge batteries or replace propane tank.
• Must conduct pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure the forklift adheres to all safety and mechanical standards.
• Acquire fundamental understanding of load and unload procedures.
• Unload trailers and verify contents.
• Place product in racks accurately using RF equipment.
• Load trailers accurately using RF process.
• Responsible for inventory control, tracking, and reporting inventory utilizing material management systems.
• Organize and assign storage space utilized in warehousing and moving material to other departments.
• Maintain clear and polite communication with the dock supervisor, lead, fellow forklift operators, and office staff.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Position Specific Details:
• Shift differentials are as follows: a $0.50 increase for second shift and a $0.75 increase for third shift.
• Qualifications:
• Experience operating machinery, hand tools, and the necessary safety requirements.
• Skill to read and understand instructions to fulfill each individual job.
• Works well under pressure and is capable of handling high-volume tasks.
• A team player who works well with others.
• Proven experience in the handling of controls for driving forklift.
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls.
• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift.
• Good spatial ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin.
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.
• Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads.
• Additional job requirements may be listed outside the staffing requisition.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English or Spanish.
Physical Requirements:
• Job requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Frequently required to stand for up to 8 hours, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry and walk throughout the warehouse.
• Must be able to continuously work in varying temperatures, hot and cold.
There will be four hours training prior to shift start.
Directions: Employee entrance is between dock doors 50 and 51.
First day of training enter : Co-mail entrance by dock door 143.
First day of their shift enter through door 35.
