Senior Systems Engineer

This position is located in Huntsville, AL and requires a U.S. citizen with a DoD Secret security clearance. The role is within Raytheon’s Multidisciplinary Integrated Systems Department (MISD) and involves systems engineering for air and missile defense programs. What You Will Do Perform systems engineering activities for one or more of our key technical domain areas on a range of programs, including but not limited to Patriot, Air and Missile Defense Capability (AMDC), Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), and other sensor or effector programs. Act as an individual contributor managing system, subsystem, and component level requirements, modeling & simulation, and integration efforts. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree in STEM preferred. Experience with missile defense systems and systems engineering at the subsystem level. Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements development, documentation, and maintenance. Knowledge of system concepts, detection, discrimination, track, and signal‑processing algorithms. Experience coding system models, algorithms, test vectors, and evaluation tools for radar performance analysis. Familiarity with MATLAB (object‑oriented), Python, C/C++, Java, or DOORS. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear technical documentation and presentations. Experience with risk and opportunity analysis, modeling & simulation development, and data analysis. Experience working within Agile methodologies and using tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and present technical solutions to complex user needs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.
