Content Specialist

A community-focused nonprofit organization is seeking a creative, hands-on Content & Communications Specialist to support day-to-day communications, content creation, and event promotion. The ideal candidate has a strong visual eye and enjoys creating content , from social graphics and emails to event promotions and recaps. You’ll work within established brand guidelines to create polished, engaging content across digital and print channels. What You’ll Do: Create on-brand graphics and content for social media, email, events, web, and print using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Promote upcoming programs and events through social posts, email campaigns, flyers, and other marketing materials. Capture and highlight events and community moments through photos, social content, recaps, and other storytelling. Manage a busy communications and content calendar, including social posts, event promotions, weekly emails, newsletters, and program communications. Help roll out a newly refreshed brand and update existing materials using established brand guidelines. Build and send email campaigns and update branded email templates. Write and edit light marketing copy, including captions, headlines, and event messaging. Partner with internal teams to gather information, stories, photos, and content. Support website content and an upcoming website redesign. Manage multiple projects, requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of experience in content, communications, marketing, or a related field. Hands‑on experience creating graphics and visual content, with a strong eye for design. Proficiency in Canva; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Experience with social media, email marketing, and digital content. Comfortable capturing photos and content at events; basic video/Reels experience is a plus. Strong organizational, project management, editing, and proofreading skills. Able to work independently, take feedback, and manage multiple priorities. Nonprofit, community, education, or mission‑driven experience is a plus. Portfolio or work samples demonstrating hands-on visual content creation are strongly preferred.
