Derby Fabricating Solutions is looking for a skilled Automotive Manufacturing Quality Manager to join their team in Louisville, KY. This is a critical role responsible for sustaining the Derby Fabricating Quality Management System within the manufacturing plant, as well as providing direction to the quality support personnel. If you have quality management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive) , Derby Fabricating wants to hear from you! Minimum qualifications: Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive industry Working knowledge of AIAG core tools, e.g. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) Proficiency with with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) Interpret and understand blueprints Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, Micro Vue, and steel rules Good analytical and problem solving skills Good organization skills Self-motivated, ability to work in a deadline-driven environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented Essential duties/responsibilities: Day-to-day interaction with the plant manager on Quality-related activities Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities Provides reports of Quality information to the Corporate Quality Manager Ensures that the Quality work area is clean, organized, and documents are properly maintained Completes special projects as requested Facilitates the rejected material and corrective/preventive action process Participates in continual improvement activities Assumes the role of ISO/TS16949 plant management representative Interacts with customers and suppliers concerning Quality Activities Calibration Systems Process and System Audits Hiring, training, managing, and counseling of employees Perform product audits Measure product for process capability studies Conducts studies/audits using laboratory equipment Assists with calibration Completes special and miscellaneous projects All other work assigned About the Company Derby was founded in 1977 primarily to serve the automotive and appliance industries.
