Special Ed Teacher | Woodstock, Connecticut

Make a difference every day by guiding high school students toward academic and personal growth as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive classroom setting. This rewarding, contract-based role offers a structured workday from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 11. You'll work closely with students in grades 9-12 with mild to moderate needs, delivering instruction in both inclusion and resource environments. Your expertise and collaboration will help students achieve their IEP goals and thrive in a high school environment.


Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification for grades 9-12 (provisional licenses not accepted)
• Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate learning challenges preferred
• Solid understanding of special education best practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with peers, staff, and families
• Ability to maintain clear documentation and adhere to all relevant compliance requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction aligned to student IEPs within inclusion and resource classrooms
• Regularly assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies to support student growth
• Collaborate with general education staff to effectively include and support students in mainstream settings
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with state and district special education policies
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and achievement
