Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of previous stepdown experience required; at least 1 travel contract completed preferred License: State license required; Illinois and Iowa Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, central lines experience required - Medication titration experience with amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban required - Profile should include driver’s license - Work history/resume required - Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission date required - License verification required - One supervisory reference required Description: The traveler will be a member of the interdisciplinary team. This role involves contributing professional and clinical knowledge in the provision and management of care to patients. The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline. This unit has historically maintained a patient ratio of 1:7. There is a high volume of open travel needs to improve this ratio. The more travelers who fill the vacancies, the lower the ratio will be. Travelers will be required to work 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. This position supports the dynamic needs of patient care within the specified unit. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and certifications to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
