Project Engineer

** This role requires extensive travel. **Summary:The Project Engineer in this role is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities for Large and Medium-sized, extensive projects in the power delivery and civil construction industry, encompassing; Foundations, fencing, site grading, site development, clearing & access establishment. This role provides technical expertise and project oversight, ensuring that all administrative and engineering aspects align with project goals. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Project Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining alignment between project plans and on-site execution. This position supports multiple concurrent projects while gradually taking on leadership responsibilities, with the potential for career advancement into a management role.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Track project quantities and production for all field activities.· Analyze drawings, understand constructability of scope of work. Present solutions to owners for design issues that may arise in the field.· Review plan changes and generate RFI’s for constructability issues.· Develop, implement, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and productivity.· Work with Project Supervisors, Foreman, and Crews to ensure alignment between project plans and on-site execution.· Assist field personnel in any capacity to resolve issues.· Apply Quality Assurance / Quality Control measures in the field for all aspects of construction.· Utilize survey equipment & materials to assist crews with construction layout & quality assessments of construction items in field.· Utilize QA/QC tracking sheets and reports for documenting quality of work.· Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.· Assist with project schedules and field production tracking.· Generate weekly reports for all project information and updates.· Generate and track submittals for construction materials.· Generate and track material purchase orders.· Attend daily pre-construction meetings to assess plan of the day.· Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standardsRequirements:· Willing to relocate and commit to extensive travel· Strong organizational skills & Time management skills· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills· Strong work ethic & integrity· Capable of multitasking and working under pressure and tight deadlines· Willing to collaborate in team-oriented environments, but also work independently at times and maintain self-productive workloadsEducation and Experience:· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field· Experience with advanced reporting and analytics tools (Excel, BlueBeam, MS Project, etc.) is a plus· Demonstrated ability to decipher drawings & specifications· Previous leadership or mentorship experience is a plus· Experience with substation or utility projects is a plusCandidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
