Registered Respiratory Therapist- Casual

Department: Cardiopulmonary Services Employment Status: Casual Hours: Example of shifts Monday- Friday: Shift Rotation 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm 2 or 3 nights per month on call or as needed Every 4th weekend: 8am-9pm Position Objective: The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for efficiently and effectively administering all modes of respiratory care as well as other cardiopulmonary services to all ranges of patient's; infants to adults. The work activities range from departmental skills to professional skills and patient treatment is diversified according to diagnosis and individual needs. Modalities include but are not limited to: oxygen administration, nebulizer treatment, postural drainage and percussion, ventilator management, CPAP/BIPAP, pulmonary function testing, EKGs, and other specialized diagnostic studies. Essential Responsibilities: The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. Records and Reporting: Responsible for daily shift reports Maintain daily patient log sheet Document all information necessary for the electronic medical record accurately Complete all charges for services in electronic medical record Work with director in obtaining performance improvement data when needed Equipment: Maintain equipment and operate respiratory Request repairs or replacements as necessary of equipment Maintain inventory of supplies necessary to operate department services Attend all in-services and training sessions on new equipment Clean and properly assemble equipment used in department Follow hospital infection control policies and cleaning guides Services: Work closely with Physician/Providers and Nursing Staff Administer all forms of respiratory treatments safely and efficiently Responsible for charge rounds and equipment management Other Responsibilities: Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health's mission, vision, values, policies and procedures Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability Union Position: No #J-18808-Ljbffr Alomere Health
