We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice processing and payment activities for a long-term contract opportunity in Concord, New Hampshire. This position is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling high-volume financial transactions with accuracy. The role will focus on maintaining timely vendor payments, applying proper coding standards, and supporting reliable accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before processing them for payment.
• Assign correct general ledger or account codes to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded appropriately.
• Enter and manage accounts payable transactions in a timely manner while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Prepare and process ACH payments and scheduled check runs in accordance with established payment timelines.
• Reconcile invoice and payment records, researching discrepancies and resolving issues with internal teams or vendors.
• Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payment activity, and supporting records to assist with audit readiness.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, account questions, and invoice-related concerns.
• Support ongoing improvements to payable workflows and assist with related payment processing tasks as needed.• At least 1 year of experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Practical experience with invoice coding, account coding, and high-volume invoice entry.
• Hands-on knowledge of ACH payment processing and check run procedures.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing financial documents and entering data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow established payment schedules.
• Clear communication skills for working effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
