Company Summary
Amazing Explorers Academy is a new concept in pre-school learning that is setting a standard for early childhood education.Our company is currently experiencing rapid expansion both via franchising and corporate-owned locations in Texas, Florida and eventually, nationwide.
The entire Amazing Explorers Academy preschool experience is designed to provide the youngest among us with a “vision of the future” via a truly innovative early learning environment that is unlike any other. It was created by a taskforce of leading thinkers in a broad range of multidisciplinary fields including university professors, technology experts and community leaders. They realized that early childhood is the critical moment when humans are most open to learning and exploration. Therefore, it is the most crucial period for introducing the skills and concepts that will be essential for success in the 21st century and beyond.
STEAM Exploration
Unlike many traditional preschools that simply provide basic daycare, each Amazing Explorers Academy location is expressly formulated to deliver a comprehensive educational curriculum that inspires both “confidence” and “passion” in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) at the earliest possible age. Aside from having a dedicated STEAM activity area that is central to the school’s design, these topics are incorporated into every possible situation, from the guided “play” of the youngest learners to the “project-based learning” of older students. The result is better problem solving, more creativity, openness to collaboration and enhanced critical thinking. These are just some of the essential “life skills” that our Amazing Explorers Academy parents are truly excited about when they decide to enroll their children at one of our locations.

Amazing Explorers Academy is constantly innovating in terms of facilities, curriculum, safety, programming, and team development. We are committed to using advanced technology in every possible aspect of our business, from the in-class cameras that give both parents and staff a sense of security and transparency, to our custom AEA mobile app which promotes better teacher-parent communication about important daily events, achievement and student milestones. We are reducing paperwork, classroom clutter and waste by moving old-fashioned forms or reports to modern electronic versions. And, we are implementing advanced online systems for staff training, onboarding and daily school management, thereby ensuring that every member of our team has every possible resource to be Amazing, right at their fingertips.

Job Description - Lead Teacher
JOB SUMMARY
A Lead Teacher is responsible for managing and supervising every aspect of an Amazing Explorers Academy classroom including effective implementation of our unique preschool curriculum. This includes creating an environment of learning that promotes the social, physical and intellectual growth of children, regardless of their age, background, or abilities.
He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices and will take the lead in maintaining safety and order among all children in their room at any given time, thus ensuring activities and the curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director. The Lead Teacher must also be polite and responsive to the families of the students and be able to collaborate with other Assistant and Lead Teachers, as required, in order to foster the overall goals of Amazing Explorers Academy. All required training is paid and there is ample room for personal growth and development within the organization.
JOB DUTIES, TASKS, AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows daily schedule and implements curriculum which includes communicating and interpreting both verbally and in writing in the English language
- Maintains accurate child observation records and anecdotal notes for use during parent/teacher conferences to be held at minimum twice a year
- Conducts formal and informal assessments periodically to ensure children are on track developmentally
- Interacts with the children and models socially appropriate behavior in the classroom and on the playground. This may require frequent standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, and lifting to engage with the children
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with families in a polite and respectful manner
- Follows all safety and security policies and procedures and documents any accidents/incidents accordingly
- Follows mandated reporting guidelines as established by the state
- Supervises all children, regardless of home classroom, maintaining a secure and safe environment for children to play and learn
- Maintains proper daily attendance records utilizing digital technology in the classroom including the AEA mobile APP, sending messages and updates to families throughout the school day
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment adhering to all company procedures related to injuries and accidents and communicate any potential hazards to the Director
- Prepares a safe, warm environment that is always orderly and clean
- Promotes only positive interactions among teachers and children, treating everyone with respect and dignity by recognizing and considering the unique background of each person, including children with disabilities, special talents, interest, style or pace of learning, etc.
- Plans curriculum and materials needed for the week prior to starting any program
- Regularly opens and closes the assigned classroom in the morning and evening
- Cleans the classroom by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning the restroom, sanitizing toys and surfaces, and disposing of trash
- Helps with meal and snack preparation, feeding children, and modeling table manners by sitting with the children at family style meals.
- Participates in accreditation goals and performs the associated classroom requirements to meet those goals, if applicable.
- Maybe required to take additional training classes or courses as required by Amazing Explorers Academy or any state or regulatory agency
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 18 years old
- Must meet state licensing requirements for education including maintaining in-service hours as required by state licensing agencies or accrediting bodies
- Must meet all standards and requirements relating to education and experience as set by the state and accreditation agent
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Prefer experience in a licensed or accredited child care center
- Prefer Staff Credential or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, but not required
- Prefer CPR and First Aid certification, but not required
- Must be able to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in the English language.
