Position Overview

This role operates Monday through Friday, with Tuesdays designated as a day off. The primary emphasis of this position is on CUSTOMER SERVICE . The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication abilities, be knowledgeable about available resources, and understand how to access them effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Daily problem-solving and interaction with multiple departments.
• Exhibiting self-motivation and flexibility while maintaining a calm and empathetic demeanor towards patients and staff.
• Communicating effectively with physicians regarding patient and family concerns.
• Facilitating patient flow within the Surgery/Perioperative area.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or BSN. Familiarity with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices is essential, and knowledge of Perioperative Nursing Data Sets (PNDS) is advantageous.
• Licensure/Certifications: A current RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing or an active compact license is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is also necessary. CNOR and/or specialty certifications are preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in surgery, including circulating and scrubbing, is required.

Working Conditions

This position is based in a full-service, 150+ bed acute care hospital and emergency room located in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas.
