PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III for Honors and International Education (HIE)develops and communicates the division's vision, mission, andgoals. Provides administrative management for current and futureprojects and proposals. Through collaboration with the HIEDirector, the HIE division and related stakeholders, is responsiblefor the implementation and assessment of programs and campusactivities and makes recommendations related to student developmentand retention. Campus programming and student engagement constitute the ongoingweekly baseline of the position, while workload distributionbetween campus and system responsibilities varies considerably byacademic cycle and by division need. Many of the positions'functions may be performed at the campus level, the System level,or both, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In consultation with the HIE Director, oversees functions ofthe campus HIE programs, including Global Scholars and Honorsprogramming, as well as international education initiatives and theInternational Studies Area of Concentration Assists with or oversees maintaining the HIE campus center,including making relevant facilities requests, supply orders, and student engagement tracking; may provide work direction to campusHIE support staff and student workers Supports campus and system-level budget and procurementprocesses, including data entry and expense reports. May makebudget recommendations Plans, coordinates, and hosts campus HIE events for faculty, staff, and students to promote academic persistence, retention, andgraduation Serves as a point-of-contact for students, mentors, administrators and LSC campus community regarding HIE programmingand services As assigned, coordinates, and supports faculty and stafftraining sessions regarding successful undergraduate researchand/or international education best practices Coordinates and implements program outreach and recruitmentactivities to promote and increase student participation in GlobalScholar, Honors, and other HIE programs, events, andinitiatives Regularly assesses and analyzes student needs, interests, andevents for developing programs, objectives, and plans for reportsand evaluation Meets with students to track progress and success within GlobalScholars, Honors, and/or International Studies Area ofConcentration; with HIE director, may serve as program Advisor tostudents in HIE programs or tracks May represent OHIE at Lone Star College events andconferences Coordinates and may serve as the HIE trip leader, overseeingtrip logistics and related activities to ensure successful programimplementation Supports and coordinates system-level HIE projects,initiatives, and events as assigned, including tracking timelinesand deliverables, compiling documentation, reviewing records forcompleteness and accuracy, and preparing and submittingreports. Supports system-level curriculum management, such as coursebuilding in i-Star, review of syllabi, capacity reports, coursescheduling across the system, and first-pass review of studentlearning outcomes documentation Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS

Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards Travel required, including travel among Lone Star Collegecampuses and system locations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience

Experience I higher education and familiarity with honorseducation, international education, study abroad, or similarspecialized academic programming Salary Hiring salary range is $48,152 to $55,375 Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation.
