Design Engineer

This profile will require the candidate identified to work in New Product Development in Medical Devices. The candidate MUST have experience in Medical Device Design and have CAD background. Also, candidate MUST have experience working with offshore teams sitting at different geographical location.

Exposure to design of medical devices

Extensive CAD knowledge in UG NX is a MUST

Experience of working at/with offshore team in different geographical location is MUST

Knowledge of working in PLM system (e.g., Teamcenter Engineering)

Proficiency in Design Engineering – Product design from concept to production

Design for Manufacturing and Assembly

Highly proficient in GD&T

Exposure to verification and validation activities

Orthopaedic and Spine Product knowledge will be an advantage

Liaising between the offshore (back office) teams in India and the customer at onsite

Interacting with customer point of contacts (Functional Managers, Project Managers, Engineers) and different functional groups to identify the requirements

Identify design works that can be sent to offshore, creating work packages for sending to offshore

Working as a Design Engineer in NPD project

Create design output – CAD models in UG NX, Production level prints

Route workflow in Teamcenter Engineering and PLM

Apply proper GD&T in Production prints

Tolerance stack-up, Design verification

Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM, DFA)

Design Verification test protocol and report creation

Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills

Highly developed and proven written and oral communication skills

Must be efficient to work with offshore team

Exposure to project management, people management is an advantage

Organizational / planning skills

Strong analytical skills

Comfortable with using and facilitating a variety of problem solving methodologies

Mentors and develops junior staff within the TCS delivery organization

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering

Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering (with expertise in Product Design)

Associate Degree/Diploma with relevant work experience is acceptable
