Assistant Quality Manager

At DAVIS, we're redefining the way people experience construction by building success for all.SUMMARY:The Assistant Quality Manager will partner with Operations teams and collaborate with others within the organization to assist with the execution of quality management programs on our projects.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years’ experienceTwo (2) years’ experience in construction operations, quality management or quality assurance rolesExperience in onsite operations a plusStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to follow departmental standards and accept technical directionDemonstrated interest in technical skill development and continued learningTECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:Assists with the implementation of quality management programs on assigned projects, tracks open items for follow-upFamiliar with expectations for projects and ability to identify and communicate when expectations are not being metAssists project teams in project kick-off efforts for assigned projects to identify risk and ensure roles and responsibilities related to quality focused tasks are assigned to appropriate team membersIdentifies alternative project quality control methods proposed by teams and reviews with manager to ensure they meet company and project expectationsParticipates in various project meetings to support with quality focused contentAssists operations staff with trade partner’s onboarding and planning for quality on assigned projects, uses manager for support; identifies when quality plans are not followedUnderstands and can direct teams towards resources for technical assistance in correcting deficiencies and ensuring project standards are metSupports project team members in the use of DAVIS inspection templates; assists with preparation of project specific inspection templates as neededAssists with preparation or supports project team in preparing quality focused documents for use in trade coordination, field implementation, and field quality controlSupports operations staff with the RFI process, formulating comprehensive questions and ensuring proper documentationUnderstands and applies knowledge of contract documents and working drawings; navigates various submittal types for pertinent informationMaintains and organizes QA/QC documentation; assists project teams as necessaryAssists in investigations of quality issues to determine underlying causesWorks with Quality department and Learning + Development department to create and deliver formal courses as necessaryUtilizes software such as the project management platform; able to teach project team members and trade partners in expected use of program; understands project settings to assist teams with effective useVisits project sites frequently and attends meetings to oversee project progress and address issuesCORE COMPETENCIES FOR THE ROLE:Autonomy + AccountabilityUses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and servicesWorks independently, receives minimal guidanceAccountable for own work and possibly others on the teamBusiness ImpactImpacts own team, adjacent teams, and potentially across the companyDecisions are made with minimal guidance and may affect the success of the department / revenue groupContributes to strategic market sector / department business development planningTalent DevelopmentServes as a lead for the team, leading small projectsMay have formal supervisory responsibilitiesProvides subject matter guidance to team members with less experienceProblem Solving + ResiliencyProvides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or proceduresGathers and analyzes data to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedentDAVIS CORE VALUES:TRUSTExcellence in Service – Fulfilling our clients’ highest expectationsInclusion – Ensuring a culture of respect and acceptance, where all employees have a sense of purpose and belongingIntegrity – Exhibiting honesty and fairness while holding ourselves accountable for our actionsBuilding Relationships – Creating and maintaining strong partnerships through leadership, creative solutions and hard workThe base salary (or hourly) range for this position is$80,000.00 - $100,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
