Job Description:Director, Enterprise Resilience & Crisis ManagementReports to: VP, Operational Excellence & TransformationLocation: Nashville, TN / HybridPOSITION SUMMARYNextpower is seeking a Director, Enterprise Resilience & Crisis Management, to build and lead the company's enterprise capability to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from significant business disruptions.This is an operational leadership role, not a compliance, bureaucratic, or plan administration position. It will support Nextpower’s next phase of growth by strengthening risk mitigation and crisis management for supply chain and manufacturing disruptions, cyber incidents, natural disasters, geopolitical events, product issues, and other events that could affect employees, customers, or business performance.This role will establish the enterprise framework for resilience and crisis management, while ensuring that accountability remains where it belongs: business and functional leaders own the resilience of their operations; the Director establishes the standards, governance, coordination and enterprise visibility that enable the company to act effectively as one organization.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBuild Enterprise ResilienceEstablish Nextpower's enterprise resilience and business continuity framework, including governance, standards, critical process assessment, recovery expectations, and executive reporting.Work with functions and business leaders to identify the company's most important operational dependencies, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure, and ensure proper mitigation and contingency strategies are in place.Create a forward-looking view of resilience by identifying and monitoring leading indicators of potential disruption across manufacturing, supply chain, technology, people, facilities, and external events.Embed resilience considerations into major business changes, new capabilities, and acquisitions.Establish Crisis Management CapabilityDevelop and maintain Nextpower’s enterprise crisis management framework, including crisis classification, escalation protocols, decision rights, executive engagement, and cross-functional coordination.During a significant event, serve as the enterprise crisis management process leader: establishing a common operating picture, convening the appropriate leaders, coordinating actions and dependencies, and ensuring prompt escalation and decision-making.The Director does not replace the functional leader accountable for the underlying issue. Operations leads operational events, Cybersecurity leads cyber response, EHS leads safety incidents, Supply Chain leads supplier disruptions, and other functions keep accountability for matters within their expertise.Corporate Communications owns internal and external crisis communications, and Legal owns legal advice, regulatory matters, and related communications. The Director ensures both functions are engaged from the start of the crisis-management process, and they receive prompt and most accurate information.Drive Preparedness and Continuous ImprovementEstablish an enterprise program of business impact assessments, continuity planning, executive exercises, and crisis simulations focused on Nextpower's most consequential risks.Potential scenarios include major manufacturing or supplier disruption, cyber and technology outages, natural disasters, geopolitical or trade disruption, critical product or customer events, major safety or security incidents and business interruption arising from acquisitions or integration.Ensure that exercises and real incidents result in clear lessons learned, accountable corrective actions and measurable improvements in organizational readiness.ORGANIZATIONThe Director will initially lead a small Enterprise Resilience Center of Excellence, supported by designated resilience leads across key functions and regions. The program will begin with shared resources or contractors, with the expectation that once it proves value and success, it will evolve into a lean two-person team supporting the Director.Specialized external advisors may be engaged selectively for areas such as executive crisis simulations, ISO 22301 maturity assessments, supply-chain resilience, cyber/OT recovery, and geopolitical or security risk.QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of experience in enterprise resilience, business continuity, crisis management, operational risk, emergency management, or related disciplines, including meaningful experience leading complex cross-functional programs.Experience in manufacturing, energy, industrial technology, critical infrastructure or global supply chains.Demonstrated experience working with senior executives during significant business disruptions or crisis simulationsPossess calm judgment and influencing skills required in tough situations.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required, advanced degree preferred.Professional credentials such as CBCP/MBCP, CBCI/MBCI, ISO 22301 certification, or comparable recognized resilience credentials are strongly preferred.SUCCESSSuccess will be measured by outcomes, not by the number of continuity plans produced.Executive feedback on the utility of the program through the lens of consequential risks and dependencies.Systems and indicators to Identify emerging problems earlier.Measured and informed decisions during disruption.Maintenance of critical operations and customer commitments.Speed of recovery and adoption of learnings from each event.At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
