Senior Staff Segment Strategy Manager - Industrial Building and Home Applications

Job Description The Segment Strategy Manager is responsible for defining and driving the system solution portfolio strategy for Industrial and Building and Home Applications. Working closely with global Application and Technology Architects and regional Solution Marketing teams, this role identifies market opportunities, translates customer needs into solution concepts, develops investment business cases, monitors solution development, drives solution commercialization, and owns the execution of approved solution opportunities from concept through successful market adoption. The role serves as the market-facing counterpart to the architecture teams, ensuring that solution investments are aligned with customer requirements, technology roadmaps, and business objectives. It acts as the focal point between regional Solution Marketing teams, Product Groups, Architecture teams, Engineering, and Digital Marketing throughout the complete solution lifecycle. The role is accountable for driving cross-functional execution, stakeholder alignment, and achievement of approved business objectives throughout the solution lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Segment Strategy & Market Intelligence Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies within the assigned segment. Identify growth opportunities, priority applications, and key use cases. Develop market assessments, business forecasts, and segment solution roadmaps. Define solution portfolio priorities and investment recommendations aligned with segment growth objectives. Solution Opportunity Management Gather, evaluate, and prioritize solution opportunities from regional teams, product groups, customers, and ecosystem partners. Collaborate with Application and Technology Architects to define solution concepts and assess technical feasibility. Own assigned solution opportunities from initial evaluation through commercialization. Drive alignment and execution across all stakeholders required to successfully deliver approved solution initiatives. Prioritize opportunities based on market potential, strategic value, business impact, and portfolio fit. Business Case Development Develop business cases and investment proposals for new system solutions. Assess market opportunity, revenue potential, costs, risks, and expected returns. Define solution success metrics and commercialization objectives. Develop investment recommendations and prioritization proposals for management approval Development Governance & Approval Prepare development approval packages and executive presentations. Drive alignment across Architecture, Engineering, Product Groups, Marketing, Sales, and Finance. Support management reviews and investment decision processes. Own execution readiness, ensuring resources, stakeholder commitments, and business objectives remain aligned throughout the approval process. Solution Development Leadership Oversee solution development from concept to launch. Represent customer and market requirements throughout the development lifecycle. Track progress against business objectives, milestones, and market requirements. Act as the business owner and execution leader for approved solution initiatives. Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and cross-functional decision making to maintain execution momentum. Escalate resource, priority, or execution risks when required to achieve approved business objectives. Go-to-Market & Commercialization Coordinate solution launch activities with Digital Marketing, Regional Solution Marketing, Product Groups, and Sales teams. Support development of value propositions, marketing collateral, demonstrations, and customer-facing materials. Monitor solution adoption, market impact, and launch effectiveness. Partner with regional teams and key customers to validate solution value propositions and commercialization plans. Monitor post-launch performance and drive corrective actions when business objectives are not achieved. Strong understanding of system-level solutions and technology-driven markets. Experience developing business cases and investment proposals. Demonstrated track record of leading complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialization. Ability to work effectively across global cross-functional organizations. Excellent presentation and executive communication skills.
