6 South Med/Surg/Oncology is a 36-bed inpatient unit that includes specialties such as oncology, palliative care, hospice, general medical and simple surgery overflow. RNs provide care to patients with Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, Pancreatitis, Acute Renal failure, post-op, and Oncology. Become Chemo certified after 2 years. Additionally, 6 South has 4 beds designated to meet inpatient hospice to provide continuity of care for our patients as they transition to end of life care. This is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced RNs to build a strong nursing foundation, earn Med/Surg and Chemotherapy certifications, and develop versatile clinical skills. What we are looking for:

  Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  
  

  
  



• 
  
  

  
  Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  
  

  
  



• 
  
  

  
  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

What Youll Do:

  Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.
  
  

  
  



• 
  
  

  
  Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  
  

  
  



• 
  
  

  
  Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  
  

  
  



• 
  
  

  
  Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.

  Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.
