Senior Financial AccountantOur client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a direct hire opportunity. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the Assistant Controller and Controller in ensuring the smooth operation of the Accounting Department. This role performs a variety of accounting functions, including computing, classifying, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining the related accounting records. The incumbent will assist with loan GL monitoring, purchased guaranteed activity, and other monthly financial reporting and regulatory reports. Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:Prepare and deliver monthly ALCO/Board ReportsAssists in the preparation of monthly board loan reports, ensuring accuracy and completenessPrepare and submit the weekly FR 2900Assists in the preparation of the annual Sales & Use tax and Property tax returnsCompletes regulatory reports when neededManages and updates loans suspense accounts and works directly with the department to ensure items are cleared timelyReviews the Bank balance sheet daily to ensure it is in balance. Investigates variances and makes corrections as necessarySends Daily Liquidity analysis detailing significant variance research and explanationCoordinates the Bank's guaranteed loan purchase and investment portfolio. Also responsible for calculating and posting monthly interest accruals, market price adjustments and processing and tracking interest receivables/receiptsPartner with the CRA Officer with identifying CRA eligible investment purchasesAssists the Assistant Controller with annual insurance policy renewalsCoordinates and manages the Bank's tax investmentsAssists the Controller with annual FDICIA control testingManages the Bank's corporate credit card statement processing and paymentMaintain and update the Bank's lease schedules in coordination with the Assistant ControllerMaintains several accounting reconciliation spreadsheets for monthly certificationsAssists employees and vendors by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.Performs routine clerical duties such as photocopying, filing, posting, and tabulatingProvide backup support for reconciliations, certifications, and accounts payable processingMinimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursedQualifications:Bachelor's degree with college level coursework in accounting preferred. Some accounting coursework requiredMinimum of 5+ years' accounting/finance experience required with banking experience preferredLoan accounting knowledge preferredAdvanced Excel skills requiredStrong analytical skills with experience in measuring and improving processes to meet department and/or organization goalsDemonstrated ability to work both independently (self-directed) and with others as part of a teamAble to confidently interact with a variety of internal customers/managementAbility to multi-task and prioritize assignmentsAttention to detail is required with a proven ability to research and analyze financial resultsAbility to work scheduled full-time hours and maintain regular attendanceKavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
