Qualifications:

• Possession of Indiana Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
• Proven experience working with middle school students, ideally in a self-contained classroom
• Familiarity with supporting students with emotional disabilities
• Strong classroom management abilities and adaptable teaching strategies
• Excellent communication skills for engaging students, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues

Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction in all assigned subject areas aligned with IEP goals for middle school students with emotional disabilities
• Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and interventions tailored to diverse learning needs
• Manage a classroom environment that fosters emotional and academic growth
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and service providers to maximize student outcomes
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
• Uphold a compassionate, structured classroom environment
