Respiratory Therapist Full Time Float Pool Night

Job Overview This role provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, assisting with artificial airway changes, and performing other physician‑ordered services. Education Required – Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy. Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy. Work Experience Required – 2 years of respiratory therapy experience. Certifications Current license as a respiratory therapist in state of practice. Certified or registered respiratory therapist (National Board of Respiratory Care). Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the American Academy of Pediatrics or the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures. Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient encounter. Educates patients and healthcare team on procedures and treatment plan. Performs diagnostic procedures. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical and Environmental Demands Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue; occupational risk for communicable diseases; risk for hazardous medications and waste.
