Assists the Radiation Safety Office staff in providing an effective broad scope radiation safety service to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Conducts qualitative and quantitative measurements, analyzes data, and generates reports to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Identifies, collects, labels, and tests radiation protective apparel (RPA). Operates x-ray machines at settings optimized for RPA testing. Documents test results and updates individual Rfollow-upub records. These records may include pictures as appropriate to document RPA performance. Coordinates RPA service with clinic staff. Required Qualifications: Associate's degree in science is preferred. 0-1 years related work experience required. Full-time positions must pass investigative background check satisfactory to department, Medical Center, State and Federal regulatory policies and standards. Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of an immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members. Customer Service: Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner. Physical Nature of the Job: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and the employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift. . Pay Range: $28.85 - $40.87 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
