Lead Mechanical Engineer

Lead EngineerThe Lead Engineer position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Complete project planning, coordination, and execution with some oversight, managing time effectively to meet project schedules and task deadlines.Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for multiple small and medium-sized standard projects simultaneously.Create conceptual designs certified to Building Codes, Energy Codes, and LEED standards, while conducting economic and energy analyses.Responsible for HVAC calculations, design and layout of equipment, and duct and piping systems on assigned projects.Utilize a solid understanding of applications engineering, such as psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems, and a strong understanding of engineering standards and project execution processes.Ensure the overall quality of design drawings and models on all assigned projects.Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners.Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members, ensuring appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions.Assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management, and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required for field engineering.Oversee other design team members to complete project assignments when requested by Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentalsThorough understanding of systems and applicationsExcellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standardsProficiency in AutoCAD and RevitEducation and Experience:Required:BS in Engineering or Construction Management3+ years of experience with a Design/Build Mechanical Contractor or consultantDesired:Professional Engineer licenseACCO Competencies:Proactivity/Initiative: Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one's level/position and with minimal supervision.Perseverance: Shows wherewithal to fight for difficult goals despite challenges and to bounce back from adversity.Motivation/Dedication: Commits to excellence in pursuing unselfish goals. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks.
