Position Location Moffett Field, CA Job Overview The Logistics Specialist supports the day‑to‑day logistics and material management functions for the Ames AFSS II contract. The position coordinates the receipt, storage, tracking, movement, and accountability of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to support facility operations and maintenance. Responsibilities Essential Job Duties: Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dyes, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment such as measuring devices and office supplies in an industrial establishment. Keeps records of supplies issued to and returned by workers. Searches for lost or misplaced tools. Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed. Unpacks and stores new materials. Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn‑out equipment to superiors. May coat tools with grease or other preservatives using brush or spray gun. May attach identification tags or engrave or write identifying information on tools and equipment using marking tool. Performs other related duties as required. Job Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: One year data entry, computer use, stockroom, and receiving Skill Requirements: Ability to use MS Word and Excel. Ability to apply knowledge of inventory principles and stock requirements. Ability to read, write, and speak clearly. Ability to exert from 20 up to 50 pounds of force.
