RAW MATERIAL CATEGORY MANAGER

Strategic Sourcing & ProcurementThis position will be responsible for the strategic sourcing & procurement of all raw materials across Formulated Solutions (FS), to develop and maintain high quality relationships with existing and new suppliers; to partner across the business to develop and execute strategic initiatives that ensure supply is reliable, customer fulfillment is enhanced, and that innovation, cost savings and productivity improvements are daily deliverables; and, to document supplier qualification and performance through executed non-disclosure (NDA), supply and quality agreements.Major Duties And ResponsibilitiesStrategy:Develops and executes multi-year strategies for the categories that he/she leads, which creates value to Formulated Solutions and our customers, and assures reliable material supply, cost savings, and competitiveness.Partners on new project/business development to leverage supplier innovation.Financial Accountability:Negotiates price, terms, and service levels to meet business goals and objectives.Negotiates NDA's and Supply Agreements to include key (FS) terms.Provides spend forecast, material cost variation, and purchase price variations.Communicates price changes and discrepancies and determines financial impact.Optimizes cash by extending supplier payment terms, reducing lead times, negotiating smart MOQ's, and partnering to address excess inventory.Negotiate and track vendor credits, claims, and rebates.Operational Excellence:Establish working relationships with suppliers that support company goals and objectives while monitoring the levels of service, quality, and competitive pricing.Secures business with key vendors through supply agreements and commercial quality documentation (including CDA and code of conduct).Source new materials/suppliers within the quality guidelines.Develops key supplier leader relationships and leads business review meetings.Develops and executes dual source strategies and material alternatives through the FS Management of Change process (MOC).Provides oversight and adherence to purchasing policies and procedures.Quality:Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality assurance or quality control personnel, users, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.Ensure Regulatory Compliance – CAPA actions are completed on time, with zero critical matter findings on Purchasing controlsEnsure that 100% Procurement, EHS, Quality, and Compliance training is completed.Customer Innovation:Support Innovation and business development for new product introductions through supplier selection, qualification, and risk assessment.Support & proactively leverage Customer Procurement Partnering Initiatives & Expertise.Other duties may be assigned.QualificationRequired5-10 years of procurement experience or equivalent.Must have a strong sense of urgency and is improvement and quality driven.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Preferred AdditionalExperience with USP/NF/Food Grade chemicals is a plus experience with DMF (Drug Master File).College degree BS preferredProcurement certifications CPM, CPP, CPPM, CPSM, ASCMCritical Skills And AbilitiesExcellent proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.Extensive knowledge of procurement strategies, tactics, and negotiation skills.High personal integrity and ethics with uncompromising standards.Strong motivational and leadership qualities.Well organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask.Self-motivated, disciplined, focused, able to prioritize and execute work.Determined to improve the overall throughput and financial goals of the organization.Advanced PC skills (specifically Excel, PowerPoint & other purchasing and analytical tools.Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.Able to bridge relationships with a variety of individuals and between various departments, sites, functions, and levels of the organization.Able to work in a team-based environment.Very good command of the English language (oral & written).Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPointAbility to write presentations and reports at the executive level.Analytical data mining skills with office products a must.eSourcing tools a plus.Leadership SkillsCustomer Orientation - Understands who our customers are, how they are motivated, and the current and future business challenges they face.
