As a Level I Trauma Center , the ED at GW Hospital is equipped to handle the most complex emergency cases, with highly specialized teams available 24/7.\ N

• The Emergency Department is a 62-bed unit , including resuscitation rooms, fast-track areas, and specialized spaces for trauma, cardiac emergencies, and stroke.

• Our ED is supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities, with rapid access to radiology, laboratory, and surgical services.
\ N
• The ED is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, and a highly skilled team of emergency-trained nurses.

Job Summary:

\n As a Registered Nurse in our Level I Trauma Center's Emergency Department, you will be at the forefront of providing critical care to patients with a variety of urgent and life-threatening medical conditions. Our Emergency Department is known for its fast-paced environment and its commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. You will work alongside a dedicated team of medical professionals to deliver high-quality care and support to patients and their families during critical times.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a dynamic, challenging emergency department setting.
\ N
• Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement care for patients across a wide range of conditions.
\ N
• Administer medications,perform procedures, and monitor patient responses to treatments.
\ N
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
\ N
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
\ N
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and research opportunities.
\ N

Qualifications\n

\n
• BSN or currently enrolled.
\ N
• DC RN License, or eligibility
\ N
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in an emergency department or critical care setting is preferred.
\ N
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
\ N
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification within 1 year of hire
\ N
• Exceptional clinical skills and judgment.
\ N
• Strong ability to work under pressure and react effectively in emergency situations.
\ N
• Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
\ N
