Origin Media Network is a true crime media company that tells real stories through public records, police footage, and official documents. We're hiring a  FOIA Researcher who is passionate about public records and makes it their mission to find the craziest cases out there.

What You'll Do

• Search news sites & streaming every day for wild, unusual, and under the radar cases
• File FOIA and open records requests for bodycam, dashcam, interrogation video, 911 audio, and incident reports
• Follow up with records departments and push until the records come back
• Track every case and request so nothing gets lost

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of hands-on experience filing FOIA or public records requests
• A track record of getting records or footage back from law enforcement agencies
• Strong knowledge of public records laws and processes across different states
• A real passion for public records and government transparency
• A sharp eye for cases that make people stop and say "what? xhyhwjd "
• Self-driven and persistent. You follow up on your own and don't give up easily

Nice to Have

• Experience with investigative journalism, legal research, or records requests for media
• Familiarity with agency portals
