About the Opportunity We are seeking a customer-focused and dependable *Patient Service Specialist* to join a growing healthcare team in Wells, Maine. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in delivering a positive patient experience while supporting front-office operations.

Key Responsibilities Patient Registration & Front Desk Support
* Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
* Register patients and verify demographic information
* Prepare patient intake paperwork before appointments
* Check patients in and out of appointments
* Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
Insurance & Financial Responsibilities
* Verify insurance eligibility and coverage
* Obtain insurance authorizations and approvals as needed
* Collect co-pays and patient payments
* Educate patients regarding financial responsibility and payment expectations
* Process payments accurately and maintain records
Customer Service
* Provide exceptional service to patients and family members
* Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
* Communicate effectively with insurance companies, attorney offices, referral sources, and healthcare providers
* Resolve issues and escalate concerns when appropriate
Administrative Support
* Maintain accurate patient records
* Support revenue cycle operations through accurate registration and insurance verification
* Assist with office operations and administrative tasks
* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment
Required Qualifications
* Previous customer service experience
* Professional work experience in a customer-facing environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Comfortable handling sensitive conversations with patients
* Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
