We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and growth of our financial operations. Position Overview The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of a fast-paced commercial finance environment. This individual will bring a strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger management, with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization. Core Competencies Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including balance sheet and income statement analysis, internal controls, and financial reporting standards Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookups, and data filtering for financial analysis Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex accounting and financial issues within a dynamic commercial finance environment Exceptional organizational skills with a disciplined approach to prioritization, accuracy, and attention to detail Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and management levels Key Responsibilities Lead month-end close processes, including general ledger analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations Support daily accounting operations and ensure timely completion of all month-end deliverables Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards Prepare and deliver financial reports, budget analyses, revenue summaries, and variance reporting for management review Conduct cash flow analysis and develop short- and long-term forecasting to support business planning and liquidity management Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field required Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, industry accounting, or commercial finance/consulting Demonstrated experience with month-end close, general ledger analysis, and financial statement preparation QuickBooks expertise required; experience with factoring or ABL software is a strong plus Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Excel PivotTables and VLookups, GAAP application, and full-cycle accounting functions CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders SouthStar Capital offers a competitive compensation package, including: 401(k) with company matching Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance Paid time off Annual performance-based bonuses Retirement plan based on handbook guidelines Schedule & Location In Office - Monday through Friday 8:30 – 5:30 Powered by Opt-Out Request Honored Required Always Active Functional Functional Analytics Analytics Advertising Advertising #J-18808-Ljbffr
