Certified Surgical First Assistant

Job Summary • Assist the surgical team in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a surgeon during operative and invasive procedures • Maintain a sterile environment and ensure proper surgical techniques are followed Key Responsibilities • Prepare operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment • Assist the surgeon during procedures by providing exposure, controlling bleeding, and suturing incisions • Monitor patient condition during surgery in collaboration with the surgical team • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards • Support patient positioning and prepping prior to surgery • Participate in pre-operative planning and post-operative debriefs Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • Completion of an accredited Surgical First Assistant program • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a surgical assistant role, preferably in CVOR • Strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile techniques • Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Prior experience in a high-volume cardiovascular surgery environment • Knowledge of electronic medical records and surgical documentation systems #J-18808-Ljbffr Compunnel, Inc.
