Clinical RN II- Surgical and Trauma ICU

Job Overview Registered Nurse – Surgical & Trauma ICU, Escondido, California. Full‑time day shift, 12‑hour rotations (72 hours per pay period). Responsibilities Coordinate nursing care for assigned patients and manage day‑to‑day clinical activities. Develop and supervise plan of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel, exercising professional judgment and independent discretion. Observe and direct patient lifts and mobilization; participate in patient handling as needed. Adhere to the California Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. Utilize standard office equipment—calculator, fax, photocopier—and computer software (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e‑mail). Perform written and oral communication in English at a sufficient level to satisfy essential functions. Comply with Palomar Health policies, procedures, applicable laws, and standards. Contribute to the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Certification and/or licensure as required. Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum Experience: 1 year of directly related RN experience in the specialty area. Preferred Experience: 2 years of directly related RN experience in the specialty area. Required Certification: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support and BLS – Healthcare Provider. Required License: Current California Registered Nurse License. Computer skills: Proficient use of keyboard, mouse, Windows commands, spreadsheets, and word processing.
