New Canaan Nature Center
Chickens: We are looking for a volunteer who would like to be trained to feed and care for our resident chickens on Monday and Friday mornings along with Monday and Wednesday evening for the summer. Work involves feeding, watering, and cleaning the animals' enclosures, as well as letting them out for the day or putting them away for the night .
Time required: about 20-30 minutes weekly.
Summer Position- Mammals : We are looking for a volunteer who would like to be trained to feed and care for our resident small mammals on Thursdays. Work involves feeding, watering, and cleaning the animals' enclosures .
Time required: about 20-30 minutes weekly.
Turtles: We are looking for a Summer volunteer who would like to be trained to feed and care for our resident aquatic and terrestrial turtles on Fridays. Work involves feeding, watering, and cleaning the animals' enclosures, as well as letting them out for the day or putting them away for the night .
Because formal training will be provided by our Animal Care team, we are seeking volunteers who are able to provide us with a long-term commitment.
All volunteers are required to fill out a Volunteer Application. A background check is mandatory for all adults prior to the start of volunteer service.
