# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – New York

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Northern New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every-other-weekend coverage. Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5; Night shift ratio 1:6. Floating to sister units (West 2, West 3, and Observation) may be required.

Highlights:

• Certified Stroke Center with diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, CVA, infectious disease, pre/post-operative, and endocrine diagnoses
• PCU or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience accepted; PCU-trained candidates strongly preferred
• 17 patient rooms with 30 beds and average daily census of 23
• Epic EMR system with 16 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Travel nurses welcome; first-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year of experience

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience (required)
• Strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, IV management, wound care, and CVA patient care
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility location
• Maximum 10 days requested time off during assignment
