Supply Chain Engineer – Material Operations & Strategies We are excited to announce our opening for a Supply Chain Engineer on our Material Operations & Strategies team in the greater DC region (Rockville, MD or Reston, VA). Primary Responsibilities Serves as Procurement Engineer within the Material Operations & Strategies organization, interacting with multiple hardware, software, cloud, and cyber manufacturers and technical teams within Leidos. Solves problems in Cost/Value Engineering, Affordability, and Technical Solutions. Provides innovative technical solutions and sourcing strategies that drive down cost through market research and engagement with Category Managers and Supplier Relationship Managers. Works with Solution Architects to define technical requirements by engaging suppliers. Collaborates with program team to understand material requirements and program strategy. Handles duties related to Supplier Management, Program Strategy Development, Program Material Acquisition, Business Process Re‑Engineering, and Procurement Tool deployments. Acts as a self‑starter, flexible, and capable of working independently. Basic Qualifications Technical bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education. 3+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and coordination, with a demonstrated history of developing technical solutions that meet program requirements. Must possess a background in technology. Strong understanding of acquisition of IT hardware, IT software, cloud, cyber, and XaaS technologies. Experience with supplier coordination including hardware and software selection, maintenance issues, and problem resolution. Demonstrated experience interfacing across multiple organizations and program levels simultaneously with minimal supervision. Ability to multi‑task and work under tight time constraints. Strong written and oral communication skills at all levels internally and externally with customers and suppliers. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Must be a U.S. citizen. Preferred Qualifications Candidate local to the greater DC region. Local travel to NASA facilities required for program system access. Pay Range $50,700.00 – $91,650.00 (general guideline).
