Production Manager - Sheet Metal Fabrication

Job Title: Production Manager (Onsite, Dallas, TX) Reporting to: Director of Operations Job Summary The ‘Production Manager’ will guide and coordinate activities of employees in the manufacturing department; multi-level assembly, electronic card/system testing and quality assurance to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements. Responsibilities Guide departmental activities to support design of new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques, including test procedures. Explore technology trends and market demand to plan projects. Collaborate with management, production, and marketing staff to resolve manufacturing feasibility, cost‑effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. Forecast operating costs of the department and direct preparation of budget requests. Partner with team and management in development of the strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the function. Review and establish material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements. Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and material supply to meet customer requirements. Coordinate production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution. Select and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function. Accountable for controlling manufacturing operations and ensuring production quality and cost targets are met. Manage complex problem situations and analyze data to evaluate intangible factors. Regulate relations with executives and major customers to maintain relationships. Resolve controversial situations, customer negotiations, and influence management to achieve plant goals. Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 5years of operations experience. Experience leading multiple shifts and driving lean initiatives as TPM and SUR. Proven record of escalating responsibilities in fabrication operations. Experience managing powder line with multiple colors. Experience with AMADA equipment (Laser, EMK, PEGA) and press brakes. Experience using DMM system in fabrication. Expertise in complex functional/technical areas or broad breadth of knowledge across multiple areas; understands strategic impact across sites. Advanced people and/or process management skills and customer relationship skills. Knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and interdependencies at the site. Expert-level functional, technical, and people/process management skills with internal and external customer relationship skills. Thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
