PART-TIME PARK RANGER / PARKS DEPARTMENT

Job Overview : The purpose of this position is to assist with various areas of the Parks Department, including support of Park Ranger activities such as park programs and special events, serving as park ambassadors to enhance the visitor experience, providing information, locking/ securing park facilities, providing security, and enforcing park rules and regulations. Responsibilities Coordinates and assists with interpretive recreation programs and special events as needed. Patrols park sites on foot, bike, or vehicle to enforce park rules and regulations and promote positive public relations. Prepares reports on enforcement activities, recommends policies and procedures, and maintains vehicles and equipment. Provides information and on-site support with strong communication and customer-service skills. Promotes programs offered by the Department of Parks and Recreation and interacts with the public, including all age groups. Works outdoors and must be able to endure varying weather conditions and perform light‑duty physical tasks. Works a flexible schedule; total hours vary based on employee availability and department scheduling requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr St. Charles County Government
