What your shift could look like

On second shift, you’ll kick off around 3:00 PM with a safety huddle, then move right into planned maintenance—swapping out wear parts, aligning drives, and logging inspections. When an issue pops up, you’ll grab your meter and scope to isolate a fault, track a PLC input, or tune a VFD so production keeps humming. Prefer the quiet hours? Third shift hands you the floor at 11:00 PM: you’ll execute preventive tasks end-to-end, fabricate a bracket you designed, torch-cut stock to size, or rig and position a motor for morning start-up—all with accuracy and a clean work area by shift’s end.

Compensation & schedule

• Pay: $19–$24 per hour, plus $2.50 shift differential ; paid weekly
• Sign-on bonus: $1,500
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

How you’ll make an impact

• Champion a zero-incident mindset by following all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Execute repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using test instruments and hand tools.
• Fabricate, install, and align mechanical components; perform rigging and other maintenance functions.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures using hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
• Wire to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components per code.
• Program and diagnose Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PLC systems.
• Use welding and oxyacetylene torch work safely and effectively; produce quality welds.
• Lay out, calculate, balance, and align equipment for reliable performance.
• Keep electrical systems compliant with applicable country, state, and federal codes.
• Utilize or fabricate mechanical parts such as fittings and valves from cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, and structural members.
• Deliver error-free work to internal and external customers by following established quality processes.
• Maintain an orderly workspace, work under direct supervision, and take on other tasks as assigned.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Solid critical thinking and keen attention to detail.
• Hands-on ability to troubleshoot and assist with repairs on advanced processing equipment, CNC, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose and repair complex systems.
• Self-starter who can work independently while taking direction as needed.
• Proficiency with laser alignment and vibration monitoring techniques.
• Competence programming and troubleshooting VFDs and PLCs.
• Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience testing electrical systems and circuit continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Skilled with oxyacetylene torch work and welding; must maintain welding certification.
• Ability to operate forklifts, high lifts, and cranes; must maintain certifications for required equipment.
• Comfort using common hand tools (hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, bander).
• Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.

Physical and environmental realities

• Stand and walk for long periods, including 2–5 miles per shift.
• Repeated bending, sitting, standing, twisting, and stooping for extended durations.
• Lift/carry 25–50 lbs from floor to waist and front-carry up to 25–50 lbs repeatedly per shift.
• Reach overhead; squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Maintain precise hand-finger coordination for tool and component handling.
• Read labels, follow safety and standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment.
• 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses.

Work environment may include:

• Shifting indoor/outdoor temperatures, loud noise, and equipment vibration.
• Hazards near moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals.
• Atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mist, gas, or limited ventilation affecting respiratory or skin comfort.
• Air and/or skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
