The posted compensation range of $28.10 - $41.80 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
As our Tradesman, you will maintain and contribute to the operational excellence of our facilities by applying your proficiency in basic plumbing and electrical systems, under the general direction of the Facilities Manager. Every day you will utilize your knowledge of building management systems, including automation, fire alarm, and pneumatic tube systems, read and execute preventive maintenance instructions, and apply your understanding of central plant equipment like boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and VAVs. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong hands-on skills in plumbing and electrical work, effectively troubleshoot and maintain critical building infrastructure, and proactively ensure the safe and efficient operation of all assigned facilities systems.
- Performs duties specific to skilled trade to include preparation, installation, inspection, cutting, building, restoration, interpreting blueprints and technical publications, pressure testing, calibration and adjusting operating parameters.
- Performs repair and preventive maintenance, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with applicable regulation(s) and code(s).
- Maintains applicable records, reports, logs, etc. in compliance with codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Informs the proper authority when code violations are noticed.
- Orders and maintains sufficient levels of spare parts and supplies for all projects to provide uninterrupted service to the hospital.
- Estimates time and materials required to complete repairs and weighs the cost and down time of repairs when considering making repairs in-house or using a contract service.
- Correctly and safely utilizes required tools to perform at a high level in the specific trade as needed for each assignment.
