Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Tuscaloosa, AL

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Schedule: Evening shift, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts. 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend and holidays as required. Block scheduling options may be available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).

Highlights:

• 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week in a busy, 54-bed state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Emergency Department treats more than 60,000 patients annually across all age groups with comprehensive emergency medical services
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for all other patients
• Work alongside a highly trained, multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff available 24/7
• Biweekly orientation with 16 hours of non-billable onboarding and dysrhythmia competency assessment
• Overtime available after 48 hours per week

Requirements:

• Active Alabama or Compact RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree required
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent RN experience working under highest professional license level, with at least 1 year in emergency department specialty
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed
• Ability to pass dysrhythmia basic exam within two attempts during onboarding
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
