Step into a day running a high‑performance robotic cell

When your shift starts, you power up the Human/Machine Interface (HMI), confirm automated adapters are ready, and bring the cell to a ready‑to‑run state. You stage and prepare pallets for induction, then orchestrate the flow through an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS)—manual inbound, automatic inbound, and automatic outbound—so throughput and cases-per-hour stay on target. If something halts, you diagnose the stoppage via HMI, intervene safely, and return the system to service quickly.

You’ll be part of our Customer Operations organization, the group that owns day‑to‑day operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. We partner closely with onsite customers to deliver best‑in‑class quality, safety, and system performance.

• Complete pre‑production checks on automated adapters to confirm a ready‑to‑run condition.
• Manage and monitor AS/RS flow through adapters (manual inbound, automatic inbound, automatic outbound) to maximize cases per hour.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic storage and retrieval system.
• Triage and clear system stoppages using the HMI and hands‑on recovery techniques.
• Escalate production‑impacting issues immediately to operational leadership.
• Boost uptime via system preservation, robot recovery, suspect removal, and bot health actions.
• Conduct periodic inspections: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, component validation.
• Identify out‑of‑spec conditions, perform root‑cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and sustain continuous operation of system components.
• Use radios with proper etiquette to coordinate with leads and leadership.
• Perform rover bot upkeep (replace wheels, clean, service ESD brushes and sensors, etc.).
• Recover automated robotic vehicles in the Symbotic Matrix select system, including work in restrictive areas.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

• Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems, or equivalent education/training.
• Proficiency with system inspection tasks: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, current measurements, and verifying electrical systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to drive maximum uptime and throughput from an automated cell.
• Strong commitment to working safely.
• Comfort working independently by following documented procedures and manuals.
• Capacity to multi‑task and handle multiple functions simultaneously.

• Access requires climbing steep stairs inside the structure.
• Regular work near railings at significant heights.
• Indoor environment with weather protection but variable temperatures; able to work between 105&degree; and 32&degree; Fahrenheit.
• On active construction sites, proper PPE is required: hard hat, safety vest, steel‑toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs safely and efficiently; move items up to 80 lbs.
• Stand and walk for 10–12 hours; frequent reaching with hands and arms.
• Work at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive spaces as small as 24 inches; ability to climb/balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Capable of feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and performing repetitive motions with both hands and feet.
• Follow all safety requirements and protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall‑protection procedures.
