Shipping DutiesShipping duties include but are not limited to filling containers, tank trailers, blending, transferring, and shipping products.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions Statement(s):Monitor recording instruments, flowmeters, and level indicatorsControl or operate chemical processes or systems of machinesRecord operating data such as test results and flow readingsConfer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety efficiency, and product qualityDraw samples of products to send to the laboratory for testingRegulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory personnelStart and stop pumpsEnvironmental sampling and log sheet roundsLine up valves from specified tanks to make transfersPatrol work areas to ensure that solutions in tanks are not in danger of overflowingInspect operating scrubber flowsEngage in operating machinery that regulates the flow of materials and productsTurn valves to regulate flow of products to tanks, storage drums, tote bins, bulk trailers, cylinders or isotainersTransferring flammable and corrosive propellant from drums, cylinders, bulk storage tanks, and bulk trailersManage waste materials in accordance with BMP's and environmental proceduresCalculate material requirements or yields according to formulasGauge tank levelsMaintain a written log of shift activities, as requiredLoad & unload tank trucks, tank cars, portable containers, etc.Climb ladders and stairways, as necessaryPosition Qualifications:Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actionsAccuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughlyApplied Learning - Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experienceDetail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or taskOrganized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a taskReliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthyResponsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one's conductSafety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safetySelf-Motivated - Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one's ability using his or her own drive or initiative.Deductive Reasoning - Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and credible in the workplace.Willingness to work Monday – Friday 8 hours shifts or 12-hour shift rotation.Skills & Abilities:Chemical Plant and Systems Operator Minimum Requirement:3+ years operations related experience in a plant/manufacturing environment ORAssociate's degree in Process TechnologyComputer Skills:Basic computer skillsCertificates & Licenses:Process Technology Degree or Certificate is preferred.QualificationsPhysical Demands:Lift/Carry:Stand F (Frequently) 10 lbs.. or less F (Frequently)Walk F (Frequently) 11-20 lbs.
