Farber Balsam Papain Ferrari ("FBPF") is a growing Manhattan full-service law firm which is looking to hire a motivated associate litigation attorney for its Plaintiff's Personal Injury Department.This attorney would have hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day handling of a manageable personal injury caseload, with such matters ranging from motor vehicle accidents to premises liability, amongst other matters. This hands-on experience will entail communicating directly with clients, drafting notice of claims, pleadings, discovery responses and demands, and discovery and dispositive motions; defending and conducting examinations before trial, engaging in settlement negotiations, and appearing in courts throughout New York State for substantive court conferences as well as oral arguments on discovery and dispositive motions.This candidate would also be in a position to gain pre-trial and trial experience on certain matters, e.g drafting and opposing motions in limine and working with experts on their CPLR 3101(d) disclosures, appearing at Pre-Trial Conferences, and appearing at, and assisting with, trials.While a certain level of autonomy is expected and encouraged, the associate litigation attorney would work directly under the mentorship and supervision of an experienced attorney, with whom regular collaborating and strategizing is expected, and would be working with support staff as well. Requirements Admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Admissions into other states and federal court a plus. Experience Approximately 5-8 years of relevant litigation experience. Salary Range Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000, commensurate with experience. Discretionary bonuses of up to 15% of the base salary, as well as discretionary raises, may occur, depending on performance. FBPF provides origination bonuses to attorneys who originate personal injury matters.
