Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring a travel Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment, with ARDMS (RDMS) certification and vascular experience required.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an ultrasound/sonography department with 3 scanning rooms,
• Performs all general ultrasound exams, paracentesis/thoracentesis procedures, and vascular studies,
• Average of 8-16 scans/studies per day,
• Uses Philips EPIQ ultrasound equipment and Cerner EMR/PACS,
• In-house radiologist on staff,
• 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Wednesday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM,
• Weekend coverage required on an occasional basis,
• Holiday coverage is on a rotating basis,
• On-call/standby required,
• Floating to other areas is possible but not a standard expectation,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of sonography experience,
• Active ARDMS certification with RDMS (Medical Sonography) required,
• RVT (Vascular Technology) certification preferred,
• Active BLS certification required - pending certifications will not be accepted,
• Vascular experience required,
• Cerner EMR experience,
• Active state or compact (NLC) license if applicable - pending licenses will not be accepted,
• A valid driver's license is required for consideration,
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (AZ requirement); permanent address as shown on driver's license is used to determine eligibility,

Additional Information

• Performs all general ultrasound exams, paracentesis/thoracentesis biopsies, and vascular studies,
• Works under a radiology supervisor with an in-house radiologist available,
• Orientation is 12 hours,
• Radiation badge is provided by the employer,
• Scrubs are not provided by the facility,
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
