Operations Technician

Direct Hire - Gastonia, NC (Onsite)

Schedule: Rotating 4-on/4-off, 12-hour shifts (2 days 6:45am-7:00pm, then 2 nights 6:45pm-7:00am)

Summary:
Operate and support production equipment to keep the line running safely and efficiently while meeting quality and performance targets. Perform troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery across multiple production areas (fiber feed, chemical prep, winder/rewinder, packaging, impregnation, control room).
• Monitor quality and key production metrics; respond to process upsets and escalate as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process issues to improve uptime and efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance, adjustments, housekeeping/5S, and TPM/Lean activities.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and plant policies; maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with the team and contribute improvement ideas.

Requirements

• 3+ years machine operator experience in manufacturing/production (required).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, work overtime as needed.
• Basic computer skills; KPI/process improvement experience a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and meet eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred (or equivalent experience).
