Manager, Facilities Maintenance Operations Southaven, MS Position Summary At Walmart, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Facilities Maintenance Operations to oversee the predictive and preventative maintenance of our facilities within a regional area. In this role, you will lead a team of dedicated technicians, ensuring our buildings operate efficiently and sustainably while providing a safe and comfortable environment for associates and customers. Role Detail Oversee all general predictive and preventative maintenance of overall building (Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, etc.) for multiple facilities within the region (usually less than 200-mile radius). Directly lead technicians that conduct hands‑on maintenance at the facilities (10–15 direct reports). Expect approximately 50% or more travel within the region. Leads, motivates, and develops technicians. Work directly with store managers on facility services needs. Lead daily calls with technicians and hold them accountable. Oversee budget. Manage and evaluate workload. Ensure tickets are being escalated properly. Work with vendors and contractors if needed. Provide reporting and analytics. Recruit and hire technicians. Hard Skill Sets Needed General facilities services / overall building maintenance experience – 3–5 years optimal. Electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical experience. Leadership skills – Able to lead, motivate, and develop others. Communication / interpersonal skills. Problem‑solving skills – root‑cause and breakdown analysis experience. Customer service orientation. Soft Skill Sets Needed EPA Universal Certification. PMP Certification. Lean Six Sigma. Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean record and ability to pass an MVR report. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in the same fields.
