About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45-07:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, telemetry Must-Have: Telemetry competency Ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on the shift Experience with urology and bowel care Description: Unit information includes a total of 44 beds. The unit is staffed by approximately 75 personnel. Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 unit secretary. Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 unit secretary. Patient ratios are 1:6 on day shift and 1:7 on night shift. Equipment utilized includes telemetry, PCA, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters. The EMR system is Cerner. Typical procedures include TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs, NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and various drains. Additional medical management includes heparin drips and IV antibiotics. Common surgical procedures involve cholecystectomies, appendectomies, podiatry, bowel resections, and urology surgeries. Ideal candidates will have a positive, smiling, and engaging demeanor. They should be fast-paced and energetic with effective communication skills. Good communication is essential with the charge nurse, unit secretary, providers, and CNA team. Weekly schedules indicate 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period. No special floating requirements are noted. Dress code is navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top, and jacket if needed, along with a white undershirt if necessary. No sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, coats, or other jackets are permitted.
