This contract position in the Emergency Department (ER) offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing care to a diverse patient population. We are seeking dedicated professionals who thrive in fast-paced settings and are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare.\n Key Responsibilities:\n \n Float within service line/scope of practice as needed.\n Provide care for an average daily census of 76 patients across 27 rooms, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.\n Assess and manage patients presenting with various chief complaints, including chest pain, shortness of breath, mental health evaluations, OB/GYN emergencies, sepsis, stroke, abdominal pain, sprains/strains/fractures, trauma, and cardiac arrest.\n Utilize specialized procedures and unit details, including a 27-bed ED, rural hospital services, and primary stroke center capabilities.\n Work with a dedicated team of 24/7 board-certified ED providers, charge nurses, triage nurses, and house supervisors.\n Manage critical situations in designated resuscitation rooms and mental health preferred rooms.\n \n Required Skills:\n \n Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.\n Blood product administration and central line care/management.\n Phlebotomy and starting IVs.\n Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors.\n Procedural sedation administration and management of CVA, neuro-trauma, and traumatic brain injuries.\n Experience with ortho-trauma, head injuries, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation of ABGs, and ventilated patients.\n Ability to handle cases involving gunshot wounds and isolation precautions.\n Triage experience is required.\n \n Licensure and Certifications:\n \n Must have an active Michigan RN license in hand.\n ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required.\n Minimum of 3 years of experience is required.\n Unit accepts first-time travelers; local travelers (50 miles or less) are not accepted.\n \n Scrub color: Navy.\n GLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
