Associate Commercial Counsel

Role Overview We are looking for a lawyer to join our legal team to expand our commercial function in our new Chicago office. You will interface with our go-to-market, business and cross-functional teams (including Engineering, Product and Security) to help ensure the fast, efficient execution of our agreements with customers. What You'll Do Generative AI is a fast‑moving environment with our mission to make it actionable and useful for our customers. In this role you will: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial AI SaaS contracts and other technology and AI‑related agreements. Provide regulatory and product counsel as needed. Provide training and develop resources to support sales and other cross‑functional teams. Broaden your expertise into product counseling, IP law, or other legal areas as opportunities arise. This role is based in Chicago, Illinois, and we use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. What You Have A law degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction, including Illinois. 3+ years of law firm and/or in‑house experience. Transactional background involving SaaS, technology, IP licensing, or commercial agreements, and/or M&A transactions. Creative, independent thinker who works proactively in a fast‑paced environment. Team‑focused and collaborative work style; willingness to solve new challenges in an evolving practice. Hyper‑responsive and service‑oriented attitude. Strong project management skills. Bonus: Experience with AI, supporting Go‑To‑Market/Sales, and interest in solving hard problems with a small tight‑knit team.
