Clinical Research Scientist - Discover Center Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week Schedule: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days at home) Location: Akron City Campus Summary The Clinical Research Scientist will play a pivotal role in advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care through rigorous scientific research. Designs, conducts, and analyzes clinical studies in an acute care setting aligned with system strategic goals and priorities. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions to complex medical challenges, ensuring that research findings are translated into clinical practice. Formal Education Required PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Medicine, Pharmacology) Experience and Training Required Five (5) years of clinical research experience in a healthcare or biomedical research setting Evidence of clinically relevant research publications (preferred) Other Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications Strong analytical and statistical skills Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience with grant writing and securing research funding (preferred) Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical standards in clinical research Demonstrated leadership, management, and organizational skills Experience in finance/budgeting, computer applications, customer service Ongoing commitment to continuous professional growth, development, and excellence Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, and collaborate with physicians, hospital staff, patients, and community and industry partners Maintains good physical and emotional well‑being and positive attitude Population-specific competency: ability to effectively interact with patients/customers/co‑workers with respect for their dignity Ability to direct own work efforts to assure desired and contracted outcomes Maintain confidentiality of hospital patient information Physical Demands Sedentary work; may exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount frequently Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled #J-18808-Ljbffr
