1st Shift Hall Lead – Mental Health Associate – Respect, Integrity, or RISE Halls Alabama Clinical Schools has been a behavioral healthcare provider in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our treatment services range from intensive residential treatment for males ages 9‑18 to therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. Our RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care programs for boys are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama. Responsibilities The Hall Lead Mental Health Associate (1st Shift) provides direct care to adolescent residents with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety and well‑being. Hall Leads are primarily responsible for ensuring residents’ safety on the unit by using a therapeutic approach in all tasks—including assistance with daily activities, facilitation of groups, and assistance with intake and discharge. They implement treatment plans, provide crisis intervention, and set a good example for other MHAs. Hall Leads also assist in training new MHAs. Qualifications Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or other related mental health field preferred. Detail-oriented and organized with strong documentation skills. Ability to safely monitor residents, perform physical management techniques, and provide crisis intervention. Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
