The Lending Assistant will provide lending and administrative support to lenders within United Bank’s Agricultural Lending line of business. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Execute and manage pre-closing tasks and post-closing tasks of agricultural lending; including, but not limited to ordering title, appraisals, survey, flood certifications, lien verification with appropriate agencies; loan documentation review with system reconciliation to ensure data integrity. Collect, review, and analyze various financial documents for loan requests; including financial statements and tax returns. Coordinate loan processing activities – work with loan operations team to ensure that loans are closed and loaded in the system accurately and in a timely manner. Review loan documents as prepared by outside counsel and coordinate loan closings. Partner with lender in efficiently processing draw approvals and wires, and other funding methods. Ensure loan documents and files are imaged properly and in a timely manner. Partner with lenders to monitor past due loans, maturing loans, insurance policies, monitoring and clearing technical exceptions, timely recording of mortgages and related documents. Ensure compliance with loan policy, regulations, and procedures. Effectively manage customer communications (verbal and written), problem resolution, and provide excellent customer service. Maintain inventory and supply chain operations for department. Collaborative professional skills that lead to a collegial and partnered approach to meeting objectives. High motivation with ability to successfully meet individual and team goals while maintaining individual performance over the long term. Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and flexibility. Any other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 2+ years related experience in the financial industry (banking, credit union, finance) or in a related business field. Proficient with Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent time management skills to work semi-autonomously with multiple projects and deliverables. Effective organizational and administrative skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of a professional, administrative office environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization. Ability to manage competing priorities for greatest impact in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or finance. 3+ years related experience in the financial industry working in an Agricultural Lending department. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage time and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization. Collaborative professional skills that lead to a collegial and partnered approach to meeting objectives. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity.
